Grand Canyon University | College of Education

Location: Phoenix Arizona

Completion: 12/10

Size: 28,800 sf

The academic building is a $7M project with 20 classrooms and 25 faculty offices. The general classrooms are designed for state-of-the-art content delivery with built-in flexibility to accommodate traditional lectures or interactive group learning. The classrooms are also designed to double as break-out rooms for conferences held in the adjacent arena. Specialty classrooms include a demonstration kindergarten room that can be used as a child-watch facility for events in the arena and a demonstration grade school classroom to support the College of Education. In addition, a classroom to support the College of Nursing was added which simulates a hospital environment.

The project also provides “sticky spaces” for student use, casual lounges off of the main corridor with WiFi and outlets to recharge personal electronic devices. More formal student spaces include mediated Study Rooms to support group project work spaces.
